What is the objective of our education program?

Our goal is to deliver inspiring and actionable education that helps move the global health and fitness industry forward. We aim to provide attendees with:

  • Forward-thinking, relevant, and immediately applicable content
  • Insights on emerging trends, global standards, and best practices
  • Tools and knowledge to fuel innovation and drive impactful growth
  • Perspectives from industry leaders who are advancing health and wellness worldwide

Who is eligible to present an education session?

We welcome thought leaders, academics, seasoned professionals, and innovators contributing to the global health and wellness landscape. We are actively seeking presenters who are:

  • Advocating for physical activity and wellness standards on a national or global scale
  • Driving policy, innovation, or research that advances fitness and well-being
  • Shaping the conversations and solutions guiding the future of our industry

If you are a recognized contributor to this mission—whether operating within or outside the traditional club model—we encourage you to submit your proposal.

I’m employed by an industry supplier. Can I submit a speaker application?

Yes, you may submit a session concept. However, supplier-led presentations are more often included in sponsored Supplier Seminars, which offer a platform tailored to product or service-related discussions. To learn more about these opportunities, please contact Lynne Devaney, Vice President of Sponsorship & Business Development, ldevaney@healthandfitness.org.

What will I need to submit a speaker application?

Applicants should provide the following:

  • Speaker name, title, organization, and full contact information
  • A short speaker biography in paragraph form
  • Professional headshot
  • Session title
  • Five clear learning objectives outlining what the audience will gain
  • A description of relevant past speaking experience

How many people may speak during a session?

Standard education sessions may include up to two co-presenters. Panel discussions may include up to three panelists and one moderator.

Moderators are responsible for managing communication and materials with panelists. All panelists must be approved by the Health & Fitness Association before any official invitation to present is extended.

What does the Health & Fitness Association provide to approved speakers?

All confirmed speakers will receive a complimentary full registration to The HFA Show.

Will the session be recorded?

Select sessions may be recorded. Speakers will be notified in advance if their session is chosen for recording, and further details will be provided leading up to the event.

Are handout materials permitted?

Yes. Speakers may provide handouts through the HFA website and/or event mobile app. Printed materials may also be distributed onsite at the speaker’s expense. Please note that sales and promotional literature or branded giveaways are not permitted in education sessions.

Can I promote a product or service during the session?

To preserve the educational integrity of the program, overt sales pitches are not allowed. Education sessions must remain non-commercial and content-focused. However, speakers may share contact details for post-event follow-up.

Can I sell books, DVDs, or other products in the education session?

No. Sales of products or services are not permitted in session rooms.
