Major update: BioAge and Longevity program launched along with EGYM Smart Strength Series 3

DENVER, August 4, 2026 – Longevity has become a top priority for modern exercisers, and fitness providers worldwide are responding to meet this growing demand. With the recent release of the new EGYM Smart Strength Series 3, EGYM introduced two major updates: a comprehensive update to EGYM BioAge and the new Longevity training program. Together, these tools provide a scientifically sound way to measure biological fitness and improve it systematically.

With this update, EGYM BioAge evolves into an even more precise indicator of an individual’s healthspan. The new calculation uses data from millions of real training sessions across our global network, combined with the latest sports science research. EGYM has refined the four BioAge categories—Strength, Cardio, Metabolism, and Flexibility—and added new age-related benchmarks.

“The fitness industry has been talking about longevity for years. With the new BioAge data, we are making healthy aging visible and comprehensible for millions of people in a more concrete way,” says Florian Eibl, Senior Principal Product Manager at EGYM. “The combination of real training data, modern sports science, and intelligent age-referencing creates a significantly more precise picture of long-term physical performance. This not only motivates members in the short term, but also supports sustainable behavioral changes over many years.”

More precision through millions of data points

The update improves every component of the BioAge:

Strength: Updated reference values for all equipment use the largest dataset of real strength training sessions available.

Cardio: Calculations now prioritize age-related VO2max classifications and focus more strongly on scientifically sound health indicators.

Metabolism: Skeletal muscle mass is now a core parameter, as low muscle mass is strongly associated with long-term health risks.

Flexibility: Assessments have been adapted to include age-related group benchmarks.

Previous BioAge trends and progress data remain fully accessible. Members automatically receive their new, more precise reference value at their next assessment or strength test.

From measurement to improvement: The new Longevity program Alongside the BioAge update, EGYM has introduced an entirely new training program focused on long-term health and performance. The Longevity program was developed by reviewing existing training concepts and optimizing them with current findings from training science and research on aging. Insights from millions of EGYM workouts have been incorporated to ensure the programs are effective.

The program helps members preserve muscle mass, bone density, mobility, and cardiovascular performance—all of which are crucial for a high quality of life. With the new Longevity goal available via EGYM Genius AI and specialized Longevity training programs for Smart Strength and Smart Cardio, EGYM is expanding its ecosystem to support healthy aging. These offerings help members sustainably improve their health, fitness, and quality of life.

EGYM combines intelligent training control with individually tailored stimuli. This allows for efficient gains in strength and muscle mass without overstressing the body. At the same time, the new programs support key factors for a long and healthy life, including strength, endurance, mobility, and resilience.

Through seamless integration into the EGYM ecosystem, members benefit from a simple, motivating, and scientifically sound training solution that accompanies them on their path to greater health and longevity.

“Healthy aging is not achieved through a singular training goal—it is the outcome of an intelligent balance of various physical capabilities,” explains Florian Eibl. “That’s precisely why our Longevity program combines strength, endurance, and mobility in one scientifically sound overall concept. Members thus receive a clear and practical way to actively extend their healthspan.”
